BIO

I got my start from a love for music since I can remember riding with my parents as a small kid in the 80’s listening to the radio. As a teenager I was fascinated with the guitar but was never able to get my hands on one, that’s when I first wanted to create music at about 12 years old. Hip Hop was always around as I have an older brother who had a pretty eclectic taste in music but it was definitely the change in demographic in my neighborhood that essentially influenced my love for the genre. Around 14 or 15 I met a guy who actually had recorded in a studio which at the time (1998) wasn’t so accessible. He (Playa Slikk) was the younger brother of 2 of the members in Hard Boyz who was signed and had albums out. We started recording ourselves at my parents house using the mic from a stereo using another stereo for the music by hitting play on one set, loud enough so the other stereo with a mic could pick the music up and us rapping all being recorded on to tape. I enjoyed the writing and technical aspect of making music. Through other friends of mine, I met Mr. Flip who was currently recording music in a studio called Red Roof Recordings with an engineer/producer by the name of Luther Banks. Mr. Flip was interested in doing music with us and my first time at the studio I literally fell in love with all of the equipment. MPC 3000, keyboards, rack gear, computer, mics, cables and subwoofers. I rapped for a short time but I was way more interested in the creation. Producing, arranging and tracking vocals. These people were very key to my love and respect for this craft. Luther was a mentor and someone I looked up to for knowledge and advice whether I took it or not, I’ll always be thankful for those guys for playing a part in my journey in the late 90’s/early 2000’s
